Reproducing the Experience: 2021 Online Summer Jazz
當疫情仍全球性地擾動表演節目的上演，各地的主辦單位，正極力開啟能讓大眾在防疫期間 遠距欣賞演出的可能性。而另一端的創作者們，則試圖突破疫情所帶來的限制，持續在這個 非常時期裡構思並創造新作，甚至是以疫情本身作為主題。面對不斷變化的疫情，我們或許 得多花些心力讓舊的事物延續、讓新的事物發生，但這些新的事物，也往往成為了疫情期間 聯繫所有人的正能量來源。
每年吸引了數以千計樂迷共襄盛舉的兩廳院夏日爵士派對，今年便在防疫考量下，將原先的 實體現場演出，重新規劃以線上形式進行。2021年的兩廳院夏日爵士，透過四大主題-「夏日 爵士好聲音」、「夏日爵士DAY & NIGHT」、「夏日爵士JUKEBOX」、「夏日爵士超級大連結」，以 精心設計的主題社群活動，與爵士樂緊密結合，邀約全臺灣乃至全世界的樂迷們線上相會。 往昔現場演出的美好體驗，今年透過九部影片直送到家。自八月中旬起，兩廳院夏日爵士將 全面online，臨場重現爵士樂的搖擺與律動，即時分享爵士樂的感動與陶醉，以首次線上舉辦 的音樂饗宴，獻上滿點的正向力量。
同樣在疫情期間傳遞正面能量的，還有將疫情衝擊化為人間喜劇的電視與電影類作品。本期 阿特直送，將介紹兩部在串流平台與電影節上映的作品，它們除了是在疫情期間製作與拍 攝，更直接大玩「疫情」梗，帶我們暫時放下憂慮，笑看疫情期間可能會出現的各種荒謬情 境。兩部已在國際間獲得熱烈討論的作品，在敘事手法中融入了劇場形式，也指向了表演藝 術以喜劇來呈現疫情困境的未來態勢。
炎炎夏季，外頭連日高溫，希望藉由音樂現場的居家聆賞，與時事喜劇的愉悅觀看，你的心 情，也將隨之升溫。
While the pandemic continues to disrupt performances globally, organizers worldwide are endeavoring to broadcast video streaming programs for the public to enjoy performances in hard times. On the other hand, artists are striving to break through the limitations that came with the pandemic and continue to create new works during this extraordinary circumstance. Some even take the pandemic as the theme. In the face of such a rapidly changing situation, we may have to put more effort into sustaining our old habits and making new possibilities. But these new surprises are often the source to support positive mental well-being that connects everyone during the pandemic.
The NTCH Summer Jazz Party, which attracts thousands of jazz lovers every year, has been re- scheduled to be held online this year for the sake of public safety. The 2021 Summer Jazz presents programs in four themes: "SWEET VOICE", "DAY & NIGHT", "JUKEBOX", and "SUPER LINKING". We invite audiences from all over Taiwan and the world to meet online and enjoy jazz music intimately through meticulously planned community activities. We used to experience great music outdoor; this year, nine videos will be delivered to your door. From mid-August, NTCH's Summer Jazz will be fully online, reproducing the swing and rhythm of live performances, sharing the emotion and intoxication in real- time, and offering loads of emotional support.
Television and film productions that turn the impact of the pandemic into comedy are also fueling up our mental energy. This issue's Arts Up to Speed will introduce two productions from streaming platforms and film festivals filmed during the pandemic. These two pandemic parodies allow us to put aside our worries and laugh at the possible absurd situations during this anomalous time. In addition, the two works, which have been hot topics internationally, incorporate theatrical forms into their narratives, indicating the future trend of performing arts presenting the plight of the pandemic through comedy.
Taiwan's sweltering summer sees consecutive days with high temperatures. We are here with you, and we hope that enjoying live music performances and watching topical comedies from home will brighten up your mood.
