However, we are at a crossroads now. How should we summon the unique spirit of theatrical works and affect the audience with more brilliant scenes? With nearly 20 domestic and foreign programs, the 14th TIFA attempts to offer more answers that can respond to the changes in the pandemic through reconstructing concepts, forms, and imaginations. This year the participating performers and artists redefine the frontier of performing arts. In addition to challenging perfect theatrical works, they contemplate transforming the relationship between audience and performance. Breaking through the traditional definition of tangible and intangible actor-audience relationship, they attempt to elevate the diversities and possibilities of interpretation. Several of Taiwan's prominent performing groups even fueled up to launch long-conceived new creations. Artists fight back, meditate on, or embrace the lessons given by nature in recent years and internalize them into the power to create works and to face challenges. In the 2022TIFA, artists advance towards the prospect of performing arts with distinct programs and collaborate with the audience to explore the unique, post-pandemic art experience. 2022 marks the 35th anniversary of the National Theater and Concert Hall. Since our establishment, we have organized on-stage programs and planned "off-stage" activities to promote art education, including workshops, lectures, and family storytelling. Sometimes static, like knowledge sharing, and occasionally dynamic, such as body development, these activities invite the audience to step into performance venues at different times and go beyond simply "sit and watch the performance." Thus, besides charging yourself at leisure time, it also allows national performance venues to blend into everyday lives naturally. In this issue's Arts Up to Speed , we will revisit various educational promotion activities at NTCH, National Taichung Theater, and National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts Weiwuying.
