Canadian Nobel laureate Alice Munro is an expert at using short stories to depict subtle plots and relationships in daily life. Based on Munro's techniques and views, director WANG Chia-ming incorporates the local cultural sceneries of Taipei and Taoyuan in this adaptation. In addition to a remake at the National Theater, Dear Life will be presented at the Paris Autumn Festival this year, becoming the first contemporary theater production from Taiwan to be seen on this influential artistic platform in Europe.
