不只是聽，我們聆聽
Don't Just Hear -- Listen!

讓我們先切換進英語小教室模式：英語裡有「hear」和「listen」兩個字（listen用於語句需
加to），兩者中文都可以直接翻譯為「聽」，但細究起來，前者是「聽到」，後者則比較是有意
識地聽。對於音樂，我們會說「listen to music」，通常代表豎起耳朵、全神貫注 – 「聆聽」音
樂。但隨著串流興起，音樂越來越容易被隨機播放，許多時候「聽音樂」多半介於「hear」
和「listen」之間。用不用心在「聽」，當然得視每個當下的狀況，但在這個一切建立於
「秒」的時代，我們願不願意多給自己一些時間，主動創造那些心無旁鶩、將整個人的感受
全都交給音樂的時刻呢？
就在六月，國家交響樂團（NSO）榮譽指揮呂紹嘉將攜手鋼琴家史蒂芬．賀夫和小提琴家伊利
亞．葛林戈斯帶我們聆聽音樂裡的起伏與意境。在《呂紹嘉與史蒂芬．賀夫》音樂會，指揮
呂紹嘉將與鋼琴家賀夫及NSO呈現拉赫瑪尼諾夫的第四號鋼琴協奏曲；也將率領NSO獻上拉赫
瑪尼諾夫的《無言歌》和蕭斯塔科維契的C小調第八號交響曲。而在《幻想森林》音樂會，他
將與小提琴家葛林戈斯及NSO詮釋歐內格的《夏日田園》和杜悌耶的《夢之樹》；同場也將
與NSO帶來西貝流士的《塔比歐拉》和C大調第七號交響曲。
相對於聆聽音樂時的「靜」，本期阿特直送，則以「動」為題，來向大家介紹劇場裡的作品，
是因為誰而生「動」。

Let’s take a moment to look at the English language: Two words in English can be translated as “Ting”
in Mandarin, “hear” and “listen” (which requires a “to” in the sentence), but if we examine closely,
the former only implies the fact of receiving a sound whereas the latter pays more attention to hear
consciously. For music, we use “listen to music” to express “to pay attention to” and fully immerse
ourselves in the music. However, with the rise of streaming platforms, people are increasingly prone
to playing music at random, and many times “listening to music” falls somewhere between “hearing”
and “listening.” Of course, whether or not we listen attentively depends on the situation, but in a time
where everything is built on “seconds,” are we willing to give ourselves more time to create those
moments in which we’re fully absorbed in the music without any distractions?
This June, the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) and Honorary Conductor Lü Shao-chia will
collaborate with pianist Stephen Hough and violinist Ilya Gringolts to lead us to navigate the ups
and downs and artistic conceptions of music. The “Shao-Chia Lü, Stephen Hough & NSO” concert
will present Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 4 and Vocalise and Dmitri Shostakovich’s
Symphony No. 8 in C Minor. The "Shao-Chia Lü, Ilya Gringolts & NSO" concert will interpret Arthur
Honegger's Pastorale d'été and Henri Dutilleux's L'arbre des songes as well as Jean Sibelius's Tapiola
and Symphony No. 7 in C Major.

In contrast to the “stillness” of listening to music, this issue’s Arts Up to Speed focuses on “motion”
and introduces works in the theater that are created for their lively movements.
